We have had an intense few weeks starting up the society. Firstly we saw a bunch of lovely freshers and familiar faces at Imperial’s very own welcome fair on the second day of term. Setting up at welcome fair was basically the first task for all of us in the ICDSS committee. We had a few main tasks– purchasing consumables to give out, setting up our marketing and also taking care of our stall during the day– which went quite well!
We also hosted our Formula Student- AI talk, a student led project that aims to create an autonomous vehicle to race against other universities. After that, we had our first lecture– Intro to Python, Data Science and Tensorflow. Both of these had a great turnout!
In terms of collaborations, we are working with the Physics Society and the I^3 Collaboration to deliver talks on Machine Learning and Data Science.
