What is ICDSS like?

We are a flat organisation and aim to be as inclusive as possible. Everyone’s opinions are valued and can choose to lead projects and campaigns. We collect extensive feedback from our community and make decisions based on that. Our members and committee members are from various degree subjects (Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Computing etc.) and so we welcome everyone who have an interest to join.

Generally

  • We are looking for people with good communication, teamwork, time management skills and who are proactive when working. For most roles, we just need people who are passionate about Data Science and Machine Learning (no technical experience needed).
  • We are actively encouraging for a fun and diverse committee for the coming year.
  • Expected commitment would be a consistent 4-6 hours per week.
  • Regular meetings will be held once every 2-3 weeks, sometimes after 6:00pm to accommodate for everyone’s availability.

How to run?

We are looking for people with good communication, teamwork, time management skills and who are proactive when working. For most roles, we just need people who are passionate about Data Science and Machine Learning (no technical experience needed).

Go to the Union website and nominate yourself for a role. You will need 1 seconder. Nominations close 4 March 2022, after that you will need to submit a Manifesto and everyone in the society will vote for you online. If you are unsure whether to run or not, feel free to contact the current committee!
