Why Partner With Us
At ICDSS, we highly value our industrial partnerships and the contribution they bring to our members. We invite organisations involved in all industries to join us and engage with our community to train the next generation of top data scientists. Taking advantage of Data Science and applying Machine Learning to daily operations is set to be one of the fastest growing areas for all businesses. Being a top STEM focused university, our members would suit any analytical role.
Recruitment
Imperial College London is consistently ranked amongst one of the top universities in the world and so our members are also amongst the brightest in their fields. We offer our industry partners the opportunity to engage with our members and access their profiles and CVs for graduate recruitment purposes.
Marketing
With a reach of over 1,800 students from various backgrounds at Imperial College London and beyond, we can provide sponsors with access to our mailing list, provide brand visibility on our media, fixed advertisements on our website and weekly emails, opportunities for presentations to students and more.
Projects
ICDSS can also provide value to our sponsors by working on and assist with advanced analytics and machine learning projects. Pre-screened students with suitable technical skills will deliver projects to reduce your operational load and costs. After getting involved in the sponsor’s projects and having had firsthand interaction with the company, students will typically be inclined to continue their journey with the company after their studies.
Become Part of Our Events & Activities
Our workshop series cover various topics including data analysis, data visualisation, machine learning, and programming both in Python. Over the course of the last two years, we achieved a cumulative attendance of over 1200 students.
Regular talks by data scientists from industry provide our members with insights into the real-world applications of data science. Previous speakers included data scientists from J.P. Morgan, LinkedIn, Uber, and BCG Gamma. Our 2021-2022 roadmap aims to bring in more sponsors and talks from industries involved in big data.
Our advanced hack team won first prize and the most disruptive award at the Angel Hack and Hack Justice competitions. In 2021, the fourth Imperial College AI Hack, sponsored by Shopee and Kaiko, took off. 200 participants were chosen from over 300 applicants to take part in solving 3 challenges. This year we are considering bringing in new possibilities for hackathons, targeting more talents from different places.
Previously we provided industry project opportunities to the top students recruited into our advanced hack team, and less technical in-house projects for students from other backgrounds. This year we hope to source many more projects per term from industry partners for our students to work on. This will provide students with the chance to build portfolios of high impact projects to accelerate their development and increase their employability.
The DataCon initiative was held for the first time in the 2020-2021 academic year. It provided an extraordinary opportunity to build and deepen connections between the academia and industries (MIT, Mayor of London Office, Microsoft etc.). Various speakers from the government, academia and industry presented and discussed issues about “Sustainable Recovery from the Pandemic.”

Looking for Something More Bespoke
Although we provide traditional sponsorship packages, we are excited to expand towards building new educational partnerships. We would be happy to tailor partnerships to your company.
Educational Partnerships
In the upcoming academic year we aim to expand our workshop series by inviting relevant companies to teach essential data science skills – we are open to tailoring.
Your company can get involved in the following ways:
- Give training workshops targeting members with various technical backgrounds.
- Share insights on how data science brings value to your business by presenting real- world projects and applications of data-centric solutions.
- Host company/site visits so that students can experience the atmosphere of working inside the company and network with existing employees
